Investigation of Structural and Optical Characteristics of Biopolymer Composites Based on Polyvinyl Alcohol Inserted with PbS Nanoparticles

The film casting method is implemented to synthesize a series of films consisting polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and 4 wt%, 8 12 wt% lead sulfide (PbS) nanoparticles (NPs). X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) were used ensure the impact PbS loading on PVA properties, particularly optical ones. FTIR results show decrease in intensity for all bands XRD different features composites from that pure PVA. including transmission, surface reflection, absorption, investigated. Additionally, significant parameters, instance, dielectric nature refractive index films, analyzed. findings have shown NPs UV visible transmission through polymer increase their ability reflect incident light. Tauc’s equation applied determine bandgap energy (Eg) verify whether it direct or indirect.
